Sunday 2 September 2018

One is saddened to learn of the demise of Atal Behari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister of India. The All India Forward Bloc expresses heartfelt condolences and pays rich tributes to the dignified memory of Vajpayee. He was an outstanding parliamentarian and statesman. His extraordinary oratorical skill was applauded by all irrespective of one’s party affiliation. The Agra Summit of 2001 between Prime Minister Vajpayee and President Pervez Musharraf was a new beginning in the relations between India and Pakistan. Apart from his political activities, he was a creative poet and a nature lover. He has left a big void in Indian politics. With his departure an era comes to an end.

The All India Forward Bloc gratefully remembers the decision he had taken as the Prime Minister of India in 1999 to constitute the Justice Mukherjee Commission to unearth the mystery behind the disappearance of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and it will be recorded in the annals of history with due reverence. The AIFB pays respectful homage to Atal Behari Vajpayee and expresses our deep sorrow and grief to his family members.

Debabrata Biswas,former MP,

General Secretary, All India Forward Bloc
