Introduction:
The ongoing debate surrounding the removal and editing of references to the partition of India in history textbooks is an indicator of a strategic initiative to reshape historical narratives in line with contemporary political agendas, particularly targeting students and youth. A close look at the section of the content of "Partition Horror" in the NCERT textbook reveals it to be little more than a collection of fabrications, inaccuracies and a blatant distortion of historical facts. Previously, the government endorsed the elimination of mentions of Mughal rulers from the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) history curricula. This action appears to be part of a broader effort to promote a version of history that is consistent with Hindutva ideology, thereby portraying the Mughal era negatively and advancing what critics refer to as the saffronization of education.
All these vicious attempts should be viewed as a deliberate tactic to promote the broader agenda of a majoritarian state. This contemptible effort aims to erase the significant contribution and shared history of India
