Manipur: What PM cannot achieve, Meitei and Kuki-Zo groups can achieve by talking to each other | Socialist Party of India

Kuki National Organisation and United Peoples Front, both Kuki-Zo organisations, reached a renegotiated agreement on 4 September 2025, with the Government of India to extend the Suspension of Operations, which was first signed in 2008. As part of this agreement, Kuki militants are required to stay in designated camps and their arms are kept under lock. In return, they get a stipend from the government. The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity has opposed this agreement, saying that this is against the interests of the indigenous people (read Meiteis) of Manipur.
