CPI Approaches Scheduled Castes Commission for Immediate Action on Atrocities on Dalits

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued today (June 30, 2025) the following statement:

Communist Party of India General Secretary D. Raja, accompanied by National Secretary Rama Krushna Panda, met Shri Kishor Makwana, Chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), today and submitted a memorandum seeking urgent action in response to the rising wave of caste-based atrocities across the country. They drew particular attention to the horrific incident in Dharakote Block of Ganjam district, Odisha, where two Dalit men were stripped, tonsured, brutally assaulted, and forced to eat grass and drink drain water
