All India Federation of University & College Teachers’ Organisations (AIFUCTO)

Press Release

New Delhi/Patna

08th April 2025

AIFUCTO’s Clarion Call for a Massive Protest Demonstration before Parliament on 29th April, 2025. In response to the decision of 33rd Academic Conference of All India Federation of University & College Teachers’ Organisations (AIFUCTO), a massive protest demonstration will be held before the parliament (Jantar Mantar) in New Delhi on 29th April,2025. Thousands of University & College Teachers across the country and all the stake holders working in the educational sphere will join the demonstration. Members of the parliament and national leadership of various political parties have been invited to express their solidarity and support. This demonstration has been only inevitable democratic response to register AIFUCTO’s deep resentment and agony against the obstinate attitude of Ministry of Education including University Grants Commission. Since long we have been requesting the ministry and also UGC to have dialogue with us on burning problems of teachers as well as education such as implication of NEP-2020, Restoration of Old pension scheme, M.Phil & Ph.D., advance increment for in-service teachers, dignified service conditions for added college and self finance teachers, delinking Ph.D for CAS to Associate Professor. AIFUCTO also take serious note on the UGC draft regulation 2025, which will have a damaging impact on the federal structure of the constitution, academic autonomy and service conditions of teachers of the country. We also expressed our serious reservation on the recent financial amendment categorising the pre & post-pensioners of the country.

AIFUCTO appeals to the democratic conscience of Ministry of Education not to further ignore the genuine and legitimate issues affecting the service conditions of teachers as well future scenario of the country. We still hope that the dialogue will be resumed to resolve the issues, failing which AIFUCTO will go further for bigger struggle.

AIFUCTO also appeals Teachers across the country and all the stake holders to join this protest program in larger interest of education and nation.
