Corrigenda - 21 November 2015

Saturday 21 November 2015

In the Review Article—“The Importance and Centrality of Jawaharalal Nehru in Contemporary India”—by Anil Nauriya in Mainstream (November 14, 2015) the first sentence of the paragraph beginning with the words “There was a wide range of issues...” on page 27 should read: “Representing the Indian freedom struggle means a great deal.”

The first sentence of the paragraph begining with the words “The economic historian, Aditya Mukherjee, ...” on page 30 should read: “The economic historian, Aditya Mukherjee, and Mridula Mukherjee, historian of India’s freedom movement, in their essay have done well to take on the tendency of ‘neo-colonial scholars like Tirthankar Roy and Meghnad Desai to dismiss or run down the economic achievements of the Nehruvian era’.

These errors are regretted. —Editor
